Interlocked
Here is another one that has taken a lot of time. I finally decided to end it.

Copeland's
This drawing began when I went to a Copeland's Restaurant. You will notice the similarity of this one to Fox and Hound Shaded. In this one I wanted the effect of a map. I've been on a tangent with map-like drawings.

Recent Viewers
One of the ubiquitous clichés in social media is the “recent viewers/
recent readers” widget. The mosaics of faces, icons, drawings and photos have fascinated me. And so I decided to make a fictitious one. Some images were fun and some were dark. Creating a community of made up images proved daunting.
At the reception for a group show, this drawing was the most popular of my six pieces. Each time I’ve displayed my drawing, it has fascinated onlookers. During a recent conversation about the work, a non-artist was impressed.

Just Add Circles
The title “Just Add Circles” is my reaction to a recent online design trend that includes groupings of concentric circles as a pattern. Anyway, I played with circles inside circles, but I made it my own. Also, I drew vertical lines to break up my shapes as a positive/negative space game – if you will. I rendered the piece with graphite on Reeves BFK paper. It is a rag paper that can take a lot of abuse.

Crop Addiction
A couple of years ago a friend on Facebook invited me to try a game called Farm Town. In short order I was addicted to the game. I also became hooked on a very similar game, FarmVille. Anyway, here is my gouache abstract painting celebrating both games. I can’t escape grids.
